LOS ANGELES (AP) - Firefighters are on alert as hot, dry Santa Ana winds bring a second day of high fire danger to Southern California. No problems are reported Friday morning, but the National Weather Service says winds could gust to 65 mph into Saturday in the mountains and valleys.
Red flag warnings are up because of the winds, coupled with low humidity and high temperatures that could hit 88 in Los Angeles. A brushfire erupted Thursday afternoon in the Santa Clarita area north of Los Angeles, but it was quickly doused with the help of water-dropping planes and no homes were damaged.
