RENO, NV - A trough in the Pacific Northwest will keep a southwesterly flow and breezy, dry conditions over the region through Saturday. That evening breeze could delay fireworks shows on Friday, as it likely will not diminish until after dark. Temperatures will top out in the mid 90s through Saturday for western Nevada valleys. More extreme heat is likely again by early next week as a strong ridge of high pressure builds over the area. Record-breaking highs are possible Monday through Wednesday. -Jeff
