The people down under are experiencing record heat. In Sydney Australia it turned out to be the hottest day of the summer yesterday. Sydney reached 98.5° but has seen its fair share of rainfall in 2011. Sydney has seen 20% more rain than they usually see in a year.
Cold weather on the east coast is getting dangerously cold for manatees off the Florida coast. Wildlife officials say the s3ea cows suffer from potentially deadly cold stress when the water temperatures dip into the 60°s. A cold snap in the state has plunged air temperatures into the 20°s and 30°s. Boaters are being warned to slow down as the manatees make their way to warmer water. An estimated 111 manatees die last year due to the cold.
