Winter has come in with a blast in Istanbul, Turkey. A blizzard grounded several flights at Istanbul's airport and more than 300 buses were put on the streets to help ferries that could not run because of adverse conditions at sea.
Syracuse got dumped on with two and a half feet of snow yesterday. There were white out conditions and more snow is on the way.
In Ohio people were treated to a somewhat rare weather phenomenon, thunder snow. Thunder snow often gives very heavy wet snow to the area experiencing it. People often don't recognize the sound of thunder when it is snowing because it is muffled by the surrounding snow and because they simply don't expect it.
