Extreme Weather

It is something you usually don't see in India: Snow! Parts of northern India and Pakistan had a dusting of snow and ice yesterday. The frozen weather is something they haven't seen in years. Some kids took advantage of the rare weather and engaged in a friendly snowball/slush fight.

Snow in Alaska doesn't usually make headlines, there there are extremes. The fishing town of Cordova is buried under eighteen feet of snow. The snowfall set a new record. Several buildings have collapsed under the wight of the snow, but no homes have been damaged so far.

The Houston area was hammered by a powerful storm yesterday. Streets were flooded stranding hundreds of cars and even some semis. Fire crews were called out to rescue frantic drivers. There was also wind damage in some areas, but tornado sightings have not yet been confirmed.
