A blast of frigid air combined with snow and dense fog moved into China over the weekend. Some regular drivers were forced to walk since the roads were too slick. The Chinese National Meteorological Center says the current weather conditions should stick around until the middle of the week.
Slick roads in the Midwest caused a number of accidents New Year's Day. Outside Indianapolis troopers worked more than 70 crashes including at least 18 vehicles. Thankfully the crashes didn't result in any life threatening injuries.
Playa Del Rey California has seen perfect beach weather for the first weekend of the new year. Temperatures topping out at 82° meant a swim and a picnic for kids on their last day off before heading back to school.
