If you were trying to head down to southern California yesterday afternoon, you were out of luck. A snowstorm shut down interstate 5 also know as the Grapevine. It connects California's central valley with Los Angeles. Big rigs had to be escorted by police until the road was totally closed.

Strong winds in Phoenix, Arizona kicked up a massive dust storm yesterday. The winds also toppled power lines. It was all part of a Pacific storm system that created hazardous driving conditions. An air quality alert was issued for the greater Phoenix area.
