In Mexico the volcano known as Popo started rumbling this week. The volcano is just southeast of Mexico City. Scientists report seeing a column of water vapor and ash rising from the volcano.

Yesterday was a busy day for lifeguards on Florida's Fort Lauderdale Beach. A 65 year old man and a 15 year old girl were caught in rip currents and had to be rescued. The National weather Service issued a warning of a high rip current risk covering three counties along the Atlantic coast.

The warm dry weather in part of the southern plains state is having an unexpected consequence; bugs. Moths, ants and ticks have all bee spotted in record numbers in Lubbock, Texas.
