DENVER (AP) - A half dozen wildfires have erupted amid dry, windy weather in Colorado, and one has prompted evacuations after spreading to at least 200 acres.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or structures burned by any of Monday's fires.
Authorities say the 200-acre fire is in the mountains west of Denver. The Jefferson County sheriff's office says 374 homes are being evacuated.
The other fires are in the central and northern Colorado mountains, and in northeast Colorado. Billows of smoke are visible from downtown Denver.
One fire was burning on Lookout Mountain west of Denver, where
homes dot the forest along a steep, winding road with spectacular
views.
The Colorado Department of Emergency Management says small grass fires are burning in northeast Colorado's Morgan, Logan and Weld counties.
