Deadly Storms Whip Through South Carolina

Deadly storms whipped through South Carolina Wednesday killing at least three people. But that number could rise.

Emergency crews begin the task Thursday of digging through the rubble of what were once homes.

Some residents in rural York County say they saw a tornado land, sparing some houses and leveling others in its wake. Deputies estimate the twister struck six or seven homes over a three-quarter mile radius.

Five other people were taken to the hospital with injuries but they are all expected to recover.
