Waking up to hail in Reno! Early this morning, around 4:45AM, some strong thunderstorms moved through the Truckee Meadows.
Many people in NW Reno saw rain, wind, and even hail.
There wasn't any damage with the hail only getting up to 1/2" in diameter, but in some spots the hail was heavy enough to cover the ground.
Rain fell early this morning at a rate up to about .5” per hour.
That is heavy enough to reduce visibility for early morning commuters.
A few more thunderstorms are expected through the rest of this morning but things should settle down this afternoon.
Please send your pictures of the hail to POST’N SHARE.
