Predicted Snowfall for Monday into Tuesday morning

Sierra Crest 20” - 30”
Tahoe 8” – 12”
Foothills 5’ – 10”
Reno 1” – 3”

RENO, NV - A series of storms are expected to move through the Sierra this week, leaving residents with quite a bit of wet, snowy weather, and road controls throughout the mountain areas.

Current Road Conditions

The first storm brings a winter storm warning, which will be in effect until Tuesday at 4am. The heaviest amount of snow will be south of Tahoe, where they could see snowfall amounts up to 2 inches per hour. In Reno, it could start raining just in time for the evening commute.

Tuesday morning it will dry out on the valley floor while the next storm makes its way through, brining rain and snow in the Sierra. Although this second storm will not be as wet as Monday’s storm, it could bring as much snow to Reno because of the colder temperatures.

Finally, a third storm is expected Wednesday night into Thursday, and it may be the strongest of all three.
