The added weight of snow is causing some trees to topple.
The proposed site for the building is at the corner of Sandhill Rd. and Double Diamond Pkwy.
The first of three storm systems to impact the region will move through overnight through Thursday morning. Expect road controls and winter driving in the Sierra. Valleys will see rain change to snow, but little accumulation is expected below 5000'. Storms 2 and 3 will be colder, with snow levels likely around the valley floor for most of the events. This will bring the chance of valley floor snow Friday and again on Sunday. The only break in the action appears to be on Saturday, when even in the Sierra, a period of quieter weather is expected. Beyond Tuesday, a ridge of high pressure will build over the Western U.S. This will bring a longer period of dry weather, along with potential valley air quality issues. -Jeff
