A fast-moving storm system will move through the area overnight into early Friday. Gusty wind will develop along and ahead of the cold front, with valley rain and mountain snow showers likely early Friday morning. Controls are possible on Sierra passes, with snow levels dipping to Lake Tahoe level early Friday. As quickly as it moves in, this trough will exit late Friday into Saturday. Expect sunny skies to return Sunday, with much warmer weather in the forecast through next week. -Jeff
