KOLO 8 News Now is looking for a morning co-anchor to work with our female co-anchor and weather anchor. Must be able to communicate and connect with viewers over the air, through social networking, and in person. The ideal candidate has a dynamic personality with strong news knowledge and keeps up on current events. Experience producing newscasts and online content will make a candidate stand out. We are looking for someone to help bring our strong morning news product to the next level. We have a strategic plan and just need the right person to help bring it all together. Reno offers a great community in which to live with beautiful mountain views, friendly people and Lake Tahoe just an hour drive away. Whether you ski or paddleboard, there’s something for everyone here!

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

Ability to communicate professionally on-air; Ability to communicate effectively with the public and coworkers; Updates the station website and social networking sites on a daily basis; Knowledge of journalism ethics, slander and libel laws; Understanding of basic newsroom operations.

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:

-2 years reporting experience and at least 1 year of anchoring experience.

-College degree in journalism or related field is preferable.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Willing to reside within 30 minutes of station • Available for varying work schedules due to temporary or permanent schedule changes, or breaking news coverage. Salary based on experience.
