RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada senior Mengjiao Mi has been selected to participate in the 2013 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in three events, the 200, 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle, head coach Abby Steketee announced on Wednesday.

Mi is the first Nevada swimmer to compete at the NCAA Championships since Courtney Eads in 2009. That year, Eads finished 61st in the 500 free and 38th in the 200-yard butterfly. Mi's best times are 1:46.36 in the 200, 4:43.10 in the 500 and 16:19.32 in the 1,650, respectively.

"I could not be more proud of Mengjiao," Steketee said. "It has been a goal of hers to qualify for this event for the last four seasons and to finally accomplish it is a testament to her determination and passion."

A native of Beijing, China, Mi was the 2013 Mountain West Champion in each of the three events she will swim at the NCAA Championships. She touched the wall first at the conference event with the times noted above.

The championships will be held from March 21-23 in Indianapolis, Ind. at the IU Natatorium on the campus of the University of Indiana. IUPUI and the Indiana Sports Corporation will be the co-hosts of the event.

Wolf Pack diver En Tien Huang will compete at the Zone E Diving championships beginning next Thursday, fighting for a spot alongside Mi in Indianapolis. The Zone E championships will feature 24 schools from up-and-down the West coast, awarding a spot in the NCAA's to the top-eight finishers in the one meter, three-meter and platform dives. It will be held at the Cadet Natatorium on Air Force's campus.

Pack diver Stephanie Hansen will not compete at the Zone E Championships due to a wrist injury. Hansen and Huang both earned All-Mountain West honors in all three disciplines.
