RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada running back Stefphon Jefferson has been named the Mountain West Conference offensive player of the week for the third time this season.
The nation's leading rusher had 185 yards and three touchdowns Saturday in Nevada's 42-37 victory at UNLV. He scored on runs of 4, 1 and 3 yards.
Jefferson has an NCAA-best 14 rushing touchdowns to go with his 1,140 rushing yards on the season. He's the first player in the FBC to pass the 1,000-yard mark this year and the fastest to do it in Wolf Pack history.
