Nevada Wins Opener at Conference Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - The Wolf Pack beat Fresno State 4-3 in 12 innings in the first round of the conference baseball tournament on Wednesday night.

The Pack won on a solo home run by outfielder Jamison Rowe with two outs in the top of the 12th inning. Adam Whitt got the save, pitching a perfect inning of relief with a pair of strikeouts.

Nevada got another good start from Braden Shipley. He gave up three runs on seven hits in eight innings of work. He also had eight strikeouts. Hugo Hernadez staked Nevada to an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning.

The Wolf Pack play New Mexico Thursday night in the Winner's Bracket. That game is scheduled for 7pm.
