The University of Nevada baseball team lost a Mountain West game by a score of 15-2 at UNLV on Saturday afternoon. Nevada won 7-6 on Friday and the series is tied at a game apiece with one remaining tomorrow. The Wolf Pack is now 18-16 on the season and 6-8 in the Mountain West while the Rebels are 23-11 and 8-6 in conference play.
UNLV scored twice in the first inning and two more times in the second and never trailed in winning the game. Nevada’s single runs were in the third and eighth innings.
Pack lefty Tyler Wells (4-2) suffered the loss allowing four runs in his three innings on the mound. Buddy Borden (4-1) earned the win for the Rebels.
Third baseman Austin Byler (3-for-3, 2RBI) drove in both Pack runs and had three of the team’s six hits on the day.
The third game is set for 1:05 p.m. on Sunday in Las Vegas.
