The University of Nevada softball team had its bats kept in check for the second straight day on Saturday, falling to the San Diego State Aztecs 8-1 at Hixson Park.
The Wolf Pack is now 22-18 (1-4 MW), while the Aztecs are 25-12 (5-0 MW).
Megan Fincher hit her team-leading ninth home run of the season to account for Nevada's run. Other than the big fly, hit in the third to tie the game at one, Nevada had three hits in seven innings against Danielle O'toole.
Sara Parsons, Lauren Lastrapes and Chelsea Barilli each had one hit in the game.
San Diego State's eight runs came on 13 hits and three errors from the Wolf Pack. Karlyn Jones pitched all seven innings, allowing only five earned runs. She struck out three and did not walk a batter. The loss drops Jones to 13-8 on the year. O'toole is now 10-5 on the year.
The Aztecs scored twice in the fourth, three times in the fifth and twice in the seventh.
Jasmine Jenkins did not reach base, ending a streak of 22 straight games in which she had reached safely.
The final game of the three-game series will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Hixson Park.
