RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada volleyball coach Ruth Lawanson has added three players on the first day of the early signing period. Madison Foley and Peighton DeVon have signed a National Letters of Intent to play for the Wolf Pack.

“I'm excited about the class of 2014,” Lawanson said. “It is one of our smallest classes we have brought in the last few years. However this group will give us needed depth in a few key positions and allows us to add more flexibility to our team.”

A 6-0 middle blocker, DeVon attends Shadle Park High School in Spokane, Wash. She was named SPH’s top offensive threat and biggest blocker her senior year. Playing for the Club Catalyst Volleyball team, she averaged 6.78 blocks and 12 kills per match. In addition to lettering in volleyball twice, she was a two-year letterwinner in track & field and basketball.

Foley averaged 5.4 kills and 3.8 digs at Dayton (Nev.) High School and was named the Lahontan League MVP. She was named to the All-Lahontan League first team her sophomore and junior seasons. Competing in track, she won the state high jump title in 2012 and 2013. She has played the past five seasons for Silver State Volleyball Club. The team advanced to Junior Olympics in 2013.
