Kaepernick Nominated for Kids Choice Award

SAN FRANCISCO - Former Wolf Pack quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been nominated for a Kids Choice Award.

Kaepernick is one of five candidates for the "Choice Male Athlete" honor. He's up against soccer star David Beckham, NBA MVP LeBron James, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and X-Games star Shaun White.

Kaepernick led the 49ers to the Super Bowl last season, his first as a starter in the NFL. He started the final seven regular season games, passing for 1,814 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also ran for another 415 yards and five TD's.

He also set an NFL record during the 49ers win over the Packers in the Divisional Playoff game. He ran for 181 yards against Green Bay, the most rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history.

The Kids Choice Awards show will air Sunday, August 11th on FOX.
