Former Pack RB Jefferson Released by CFL Team

CALGARY - Former Wolf Pack running back Stefphon Jefferson has been released by the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He had been on their practice squad since signing with the team last month.

Jefferson was ran for 1,883 yards and 24 touchdowns last season as a junior at Nevada. Both are school records.

He averaged five yards per carry and 144.8 yards rushing per game. He also caught 22 passes for 170 yards and another TD.

He was named a second team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation and a third team All-American by

Jefferson finished with 2,338 yards and 30 touchdowns during his Wolf Pack career. He left school a year early for a shot at the NFL.
