RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada safety Jonathon Amaya has been named the Western Athletic Conference defensive player of the week for his role in helping the Wolf Pack claim their seventh victory in a row Saturday with a 52-14 win over Fresno State.
The senior from Diamond Bar, Calif., forced a fumbled and made a team-high eight tackles, including one for a loss. The fumble stopped a Bulldog drive late in the third quarter at Nevada's 10-yard line.
The Wolf Pack are now 7-3 overall and tied for first in the WAC at 7-0. They play at New Mexico State Saturday night.
