Led by junior Kristin Ronnestrand and senior Taryn O'Flynn, the Nevada skiing team moved into seventh place after the second day of the Alaska-Anchorage Invitational on Friday. The Wolf Pack is in seventh place with 257 team points. Alaska-Anchorage continues to lead its own meet with 420 points and holds a 10-point lead over Colorado (410). New Mexico (378), Denver (358) and Utah (350) round out the top five teams.
For Nevada, Ronnestrand paced the team with a fourth-place finish in women's 5K classical race with a time of 16:58.1. Freshman Åse Carlson also finished in the top 20 in the Nordic race, taking 18th at 17:50.7. In the men's 10K classical, senior Lutz Preussler (30:27.8) and sophomore Jonathan Pluvinet (30:36.1) led the Wolf Pack with 21st and 24th place finishes, respectively. Nevada had two top 20 showings in the women's slalom. O'Flynn was 15th with a time of 1:41.30, while sophomore Amy Harris ended up 20th at 1:43.74. In the men's giant slalom, sophomore Greg Berger-Sabbatel was the Wolf Pack's top finisher, ending up 29th at 2:04.89.
