Nevada Wins on Senior Day

In his final game at Peccole Park University of Nevada (25-25, 10-9 WAC) senior third baseman Tyson Jaquez doubled home two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Wolf Pack a 7-6 victory over Sacramento State (27-22, 8-10 WAC) on Senior Day. The victory was the first for the Wolf Pack in the four-game Western Athletic Conference series after the Hornets won the first three contests. With the victory the Pack improved to 25-25 overall and 10-9 in WAC play. The Hornets dropped to 27-22 on the season and 8-10 in conference action.

Blue Jays Shutout A's 5-0

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Brett Cecil yielded five hits over eight impressive innings to earn his first major league victory, Alex Rios drove in three runs and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics 5-0 on Sunday for their seventh win in 10 games.
