College sports' largest governing body has announced it will suspend membership dues for the next school year. It also hopes to save about $500,000 by holding most of its future committee meetings in Indianapolis. Some meetings are currently held in Indy, but about half of the meetings are held in other parts of the nation.

FIFA Reports Major Profit In 2008

FIFA said Wednesday that it turned a $184 million profit in 2008, remaining 13 percent under its own budget and not losing any money on assets during the year. FIFA collected $957 million in revenue, mostly off additional television and marketing deals struck for TV rights to the 2010 World Cup.

Pack's Melino Named To Freshman All-America Team

Tucson, Ariz. - University of Nevada freshman designated hitter Nick Melino has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Team. The Las Vegas product is the sixth Wolf Pack freshmen All-America since 2000 joining Darrell Rasner (2000), Chris Dickerson (2001), Mateo Miramontes (2001), Brett Hayes (2003) and Shaun Kort (2007). Rasner, Dickerson, Miramontes and Hayes were all drafted by Major League Baseball clubs while Kort will be a senior for the Pack in 2010. Rasner, Dickerson and Hayes have all played in the big league
