Wyoming Improves to 7-0 for First Time Since 1969

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Luke Martinez scored 17 points Wednesday night and Wyoming beat UC Santa Barbara 68-40, giving the Cowboys their first 7-0 start since the 1969-70 season.

Larry Nance Jr. and Derrious Gilmore scored 12 points apiece for Wyoming, which goes for its eighth win at home Saturday against No. 19 Colorado. The 1987-88 Cowboys won their first six games.

Alan Williams scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds before fouling out to lead the Gauchos (2-4). Kyle Boswell scored 10 points for UCSB.

Wyoming scored the first six points Wednesday night but the Gauchos came back to take a 7-6 lead. The Cowboys scored the next nine points and never trailed after that.
