Wolf Pack's Win Streak Snapped at San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Nevada (19-15) baseball team’s six-game win streak was snapped after the Wolf Pack fell 7-0 to San Francisco (17-18) at Benedetti Diamond Tuesday afternoon. The Pack dropped to 19-15 while the Dons improved to 17-18 on the season.

USF scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings and the Nevada offense was unable to respond with just five hits in the game. The Dons scored three runs in the sixth and one in the eighth to make the final score 7-0.

Pack starter Tyler Wells (1-4) suffered the loss allowing two runs on four hits in his three innings on the mound. USF starter Sheldon Lee (3-1) won his third game of the season pitching seven shutout innings and allowed four hits.

Five different Nevada batters had a hit in the game. USF shortstop Nico Giarratano (2-for-5) was one of three Dons hitters to collect two hits and drove in a game high two.

Nevada begins a three-game Mountain West series on Thursday at 6 p.m. versus Fresno State at Peccole Park. Friday’s game is set for 6 p.m. and the final game of the series is at 1 p.m. Saturday.
