COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Nevada soccer team was picked to finish eighth out of 11 teams in the Mountain West this season, as determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.

San Diego State collected nine first-place votes and 99 total points. New Mexico was second with 86 points and one first-place vote. UNLV and MW newcomer Utah State tied for third with 77 points apiece, with the Rebels garnering one first-place vote. Boise State (61 points) and Fresno State (52 points), finished fifth and sixth, respectively, with Wyoming (45 points), Nevada (43 points), MW newcomer San José State (31 points), Air Force (20 points) and first-year program Colorado State (12 points) rounding out the standings.

Nevada was 7-10-3 overall in 2012, posting a 2-3-2 conference mark and a sixth-place finish in the Mountain West. The Pack will return eight starters from last season, and will blend seven newcomers into a team looking to build on its second round Mountain West tournament finish last year.

The Wolf Pack will open up the 2013 season with an exhibition match against the Nevada men’s club team Friday 7 p.m. at Mackay Stadium. The season marks the fourth year under Dr. Melissa Price. The exhibition is free to the public.

Fans can now purchase Nevada soccer season tickets. Season tickets are just $50 for adults, $30 for seniors, and $35 for youth 8th grade and younger (youth ticket includes a pass to all home football games!). For more info visit nevadawolfpack.com or call 775-348-PACK.
