SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Golden Valley high school senior Leon Jacobs has decommited from Fresno State after accepting a scholarship from them last month.

“I feel like I want to open up my options to different options," Jacobs told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. "A lot of schools have contacted me. I want to feel for my future I really want to go in depth (in my search)”

The 6-foot-3, 215 pounder is a running back and linebacker for the Grizzlies. He's expected to play defense in college.

Jacobs led the team in rushing last season, running for 847 yards (6 yards per carry) with five touchdowns.

He was selected to The Signal’s All-Santa Clarita Valley First-Team Offense and was an All-Foothill League Second-Teamer.

Jacobs has also been offered a scholarship by Nevada, Air Force, Navy and Idaho. But Wake Forest is considered the leader at this point. He'll make a recruiting visit to the Demon Decons next week.
