Wolf Pack Basketball Announces Team Awards

RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada men's basketball team held its annual Starting Five Dinner tonight and handed out the team awards for the 2012-13 season. The Wolf Pack posted a 12-19 overall mark and went 3-13 competing in the Mountain West for the first time.

The backcourt duo of senior Malik Story and junior Deonte Burton shared the Pack's MVP award, starting all 98 games of their careers together.

Story led the team averaging 16.7 points per game and was named to the MW honorable mention team. He leaves Nevada ninth in career scoring with 1,476 points. The Pasadena, Calif. native holds the school record for three-pointers made (253) and attempted (655).

Burton earned third-team All-MW honors after averaging 16.3 points per game this past season. His 1,459 career points ranks 10th. The Los Angeles product led the team averaging 3.6 assists per game.

Senior Keith Fuetsch was named the team's Most Inspirational player. Fuetsch played his prep basketball at Reno's Bishop Manogue High School. The four-year letterwinner played in 47 games and earned his first start on Senior Night against New Mexico. He was the first recipient of the Nevada Athletics Department Give Back Like Jack Award for his community service his junior year.

Two freshman earned team awards as forward Cole Huff was selected as the Most Improved player and guard Marqueze Coleman was named Pack's Sixth Man Award recipient.

Huff started 14 games in his first season at Nevada and played in 30 of a possible 31 games. The 6-8 forward from Altadena, Calif. averaged 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Coleman played in a 31 games and earned starts in the final two games of the season and reached double figures in both including a season-high 14 in the MW Tournament versus Wyoming. The Los Angeles native averaged 4.5 points per game.

Junior guard Jerry Evans, Jr. and Burton shared the Top Defender Award. Evans also earned the Pack's Top Rebounder Award. Evans averaged a team-high 5.4 rebounds per game and his 7.5 points per game was third on the team. He ranked 13th in the MW in rebounding.
