BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Victor Valdes will leave Barcelona by the end of the 2013-14 season after more than a decade as the team's starting goalkeeper.
Barcelona sports director Andoni Zubizarreta said Valdes' agent told the club that Valdes' decision to leave after the expiration of his current contract was "irrevocable."
The 31-year-old has been the team's starting goalkeeper since replacing Roberto Bonano during the 2002-03 season and helped Barcelona win three Champions League titles and five Spanish league championships.
Valdes recently said he "didn't rule out getting to know other cultures and football leagues."
