AIGLE, Switzerland (AP) - Cycling's governing body is investigating Spanish rider Carlos Barredo for doping.
The UCI says it has opened a disciplinary case against the Rabobank rider following analysis of his blood profile in the biological passport doping program.
The UCI says Barredo will benefit from "the presumption of innocence until a final decision has been made on this matter."
Under the biological passport program, the UCI monitors a rider's blood profile over time for any changes that could indicate doping.
