PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers expected life to be difficult without Ben Roethlisberger. They just didn't expect it to be this difficult.

Pittsburgh (6-5) has dropped two straight while its franchise quarterback nurses a sprained right shoulder and a dislocated rib. Roethlisberger is unlikely to play Sunday when the Steelers travel to AFC North-leading Baltimore, meaning it will be up to backup Charlie Batch to revive an offense that has scored two touchdowns in 35 drives since Roethlisberger went down.

Coach Mike Tomlin is attempting to shake things up to get his team's attention, benching running back Rashard Mendenhall in favor of Jonathan Dwyer and demoting wide receiver Mike Wallace into a co-starter.

Batch, who turns 38 next week, says the Steelers haven't become too reliant on Roethlisberger for success. The bigger issue, he said, is turnovers. The Steelers have turned it over 11 times in 10 quarters without Roethlisberger.
