RENO, Nev.—Zeke Spruill threw a gem on Saturday night, as the Aces snapped a six-game losing skid with a 1-0 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers at Aces Ballpark.

The game extended Spruill’s streak without allowing an earned run for Reno, stretching back to June 3. The span covers five games and a total of 31.2 innings without allowing an earned run. The contest also marked the first 1-0 game in Aces Ballpark history.

On a night when the Aces welcomed their two millionth fan to the ballpark, Spruill did not disappoint. The righty allowed just six hits and struck out five through 8.0 shutout frames for the Aces. Kevin Munson threw a perfect final inning to earn the save and seal the win for Reno.

Lefty James Paxton threw a complete game, but was charged with the loss. He allowed just four hits, while striking out four.

A sacrifice fly off the bat of catcher Tuffy Gosewisch plated the lone run of the evening in the second inning. Gosewisch finished 1-for-2 on the night with an RBI. Reno recorded just four hits on the night.

The series continues Sunday night at Aces Ballpark. RHP Charles Brewer (4-9, 5.47 ERA) will take the mound for Reno, while the Rainiers will counter with RHP Andrew Carraway (6-3, 4.05 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. PT for another Renown Children’s Hospital Family Funday, featuring Baseball Bingo.
