South Tahoe's Jamie Anderson won an ESPY Award on Wednesday night.

Anderson was named the "Best Female Action Sports Athlete" of 2014.

She won the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in the women's snowboard slopestyle over in Sochi. It was the first time the event had ever been part of the Olympic games.

Fellow South Tahoe athlete Maddie Bowman was also one of the candidates for that award. She won the Olympic gold medal in the women's ski halfpipe.

Reno's David Wise was also up for an award. He was a candidate for the "Best Male Action Sports Athlete" honor. He lost out to skateboarder Nyjah Houston. Wise won the gold medal in the men's ski halfpipe this year. He's the first Reno athlete to ever win the gold in the Olympics.
