SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Olympian Simon Cho has admitted tampering with a Canadian rival's skates under pressure from his coach and says it was the "biggest mistake of my life."

His comments were in a statement issued by his attorney Friday morning and confirmed one allegation made against U.S. coach Jae Su Chun.

U.S. Speedskating has scheduled a press conference Friday, presumably to discuss findings of an independent investigation of Chum, who is suspended.

The 20-year-old Cho says the tampering occurred at the 2011 World Team Championships, though he had no intention to single out Oliver Jean and regrets it "with all my heart."

The allegations are part a scandal involving Chun, also accused in an arbitration demand by a dozen national team members of "unchecked" abuse. He has denied all accusations.
