MUSCAT, Oman (AP) - Peter Sagan used another late burst to win a second stage in a row at the Tour of Oman and consolidate his overall lead on Wednesday.
Sagan, a Slovak who rides with Cannondale, won the 118-mile stage from Nakhal Fort to Wadi Dayqah Dam in 5 hours, 6 minutes, 28 seconds.
Sagan came in just ahead of four riders, including Alberto Contador of Team Saxo, Greg Van Avermaet of BMC, Tony Gallopin of Radioshack, and Marco Marcato of Vacansoleil-DCM.
Sagan retains the overall leader's red jersey with a 16-second lead over Gallopin and 26 seconds over Van Avermaet.
It was another difficult day for Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins, who finished 89th and 97 seconds behind Sagan.
