Sacramento Kings Assign Ray McCallum To Bighorns

RENO, NV — The Sacramento Kings have assigned rookie guard Ray McCallum to the Reno Bighorns.

McCallum, selected in the second round (36th overall) of the 2013 NBA Draft, has not seen action in the Kings’ 11 games this season. He averaged 3.8 points, 1.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.20 steals and 12.2 minutes per game in five games off the bench for the Kings in the preseason. He is reunited with former Kings training camp players Brandon Heath, DeQuan Jones and Trent Lockett.

Ray averaged 18.7 points, 4.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals during the 2012-13 season for the Detroit Titans. He was named the Horizon League Player of the Year last season.

The assignment is the 19th of the 2013-14 NBA D-League season and the first for McCallum, who is the 12th NBA player to be assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate this season.
