Report: Nevada's James Spady Won't Get Southern Job

RENO, Nev. - It appears that Wolf Pack assistant coach James Spady has come up short in his bid for the Southern University head coaching job.

The Advocate is reporting that Athletic Director William Broussard will recommend that interim coach Dawson Odums be hired on a full-time basis.

Odums led the Jaguars to a 4-9 record this season. Three of those wins came against their biggest rivals - Jackson State, Florida A&M and Grambling.

Spady was one of two finalists for the job. He's spent the last three years at Nevada, serving as the Tight Ends coach and the Co-Offensive Line coach.
