TORONTO - The Toronto Blue Jays designated Scott Cousins for assignment on Wednesday. They had claimed him off of waivers back on October 17th.

If no other team puts in a claim for Cousins, Toronto will be able to outright him to their Triple-A team in Buffalo.

Cousins batted just .163 in 53 games with the Marlins last season. He was 14-for-86 at the plate, with one home run, four doubles and three RBI.

He was much better in Triple-A, batting .296 with 13 doubles, seven home runs and 36 RBI.

Cousins is a graduate of North Valleys high school.
