Reno native Chris Carr was released by the New Orleans Saints on Saturday in their final round of cuts. He has signed with the Saints as a free agent earlier this year.

Carr, a cornerback, has played in 114 games during his eight year career, making 27 starts. He's made 207 tackles, including 166 solo. He's also recorded 2.5 sacks, six interceptions, 26 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.

The 30-year old Carr has played for the Raiders, Titans, Ravens and Chargers. He originally signed with Oakland after going undrafted out of Boise State back in 2005.

He is a graduate of McQueen high school.
