Reno Bighorns Drain Energy Out of Iowa

RENO, Nev. — The Reno Bighorns won Wednesday night against the Iowa Energy 120-110 at the Reno Events Center.

The Reno Bighorns started the game off strong, going on a 9-0 run in the first quarter (5:05-3:29). Bryan Davis and Trent Lockett both went off for 9 points each. After the first 12 minutes of play, Reno led 39-19.

In the first half of play, Sacramento Kings assignment player, Royce White went 2-2 from beyond the arc for the Bighorns, giving him 9 points to end the first half. Iowa outshot Reno in the second quarter (28-25) in an attempt to comeback. The Bighorns held on to their lead going into halftime, 64-47.

In the third quarter, Reno continued their lead scoring 28 points in the quarter. Mo Charlo helped on the defensive end for Reno, with 5 rebounds. For Iowa, Moses Ehambe scored 8 points in the third quarter. To close out the third quarter Reno was up by 20 points, 92-72.

The Energy cut the Bighorn’s lead to eight points in the fourth quarter, but they were not able to overcome the Bighorns biggest lead of 23. Between the Bighorns and the Energy, there were 12 players in double figures and three of them over the 20 point mark.

Mo Charlo had a double-double with 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Bryan Davis (17 points, 10 rebounds) and Trent Lockett (17 points, 10 rebounds) also had double-doubles. KC Rivers scored a game-high 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

For the Energy, Moses Ehambe had a team-high 21 points. Jackie Carmichael contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds.
