SPARKS - Reed high school basketball star Gabby Williams has been nominated for this season's McDonald's All-American game. She is one of just five nominees in the state of Nevada.
The 5-foot-11 guard just returned from an ACL injury she suffered last season. She's averaging 19 points and five assists per game, leading the Raiders to a 6-1 overall record. Reed is currently ranked 4th in the state of Nevada.
Williams has already signed to play college basketball at UConn next year. She would become the first northern Nevadan to be selected to play in the girls game. Reno's David Padgett and Galena's Luke Babbitt were selected to the Boys team in years past.
The list of 984 prep seniors was announced today. The final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls will be announced during the McDonald’s All-American Games Selection Show on ESPNU on January 29 at 3:00 p.m.
