SPARKS - Reed high school senior Gabby Williams has been chosen for the McDonald's All-American game.
She is one of 24 girls from across the country to be named to the prestigious all-star team. Williams will play for the West squad in the game at the United Center in Chicago.
Williams is the first girl from northern Nevada to receive this honor, and the third player ever from this area. She joins Galena's Luke Babbitt and Reno's David Padgett.
Williams is averaging 20.4 points per game and is shooting at a 78 percent clip from three-point range. She has signed to play at the University of Connecticut next season.
She had an incredible junior season, averaged over 30 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 blocks last year.
The McDonald's All-American game will air live on ESPNU on April 2nd at 4:00pm.
