Pack Women's Golf Finish Third at BYU Entrada Classic

ST. GEORGE, Utah. – Sophomore Bethany Wurster carded a 72 on Tuesday and led Nevada to a season-best third-place finish at the BYU Entrada Classic.

Wurster, who was tied for sixth entering Thursday’s final round, tied a career-low with an even-par 72 and finished in fourth-place, marking the best finish of her career. Wurster opened Monday with a 77 and then closed the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 72 at the Entrada Course at Snow Canyon.

Freshman Caryn Khoo also broke the top 20 and finished tied for 19th with a 15-over 231 after shooting a 78 for the final round. Sophomore Nikki Prichard and senior Louise Yi finished tied for tied for 26th with a 17-over 233 for the tournament. Freshman Carly Simpson finished tied for 45th after shooting a three-over 75 for the final round.

The Wolf Pack came out strong for the final round, shooting a 10-over 298 and finishing with a 46-over 910. Nevada’s best finish to date this year had been a fifth-place at the season opening event at Colorado State.

Wisconsin won the team tournament after shooting a 11-over 299 for the final round, and finished the tournament with a 24-over 888. Wisconsin’s Kimberly Dinh won the individual tournament after shooting a two-over 74 and finished the tournament with an even-par 216.

Nevada will be back in action next week at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic hosted by Hawai`i in Maui beginning March 25.
