RENO, NV - Wolf Pack running back Chris Solomon has been suspended from the football team following an arrest Sunday.
Solomon was booked on a Domestic battery charge in the first degree, a misdemeanor. He was released on $3,000 bail the next day.
“We are aware of the incident and Chris has been suspended from the team as we continue to gather more information,” said head coach Brian Polian in a statement.
Police say January 19, 2014, around 4AM, they responded to the 4900 block of West 7th Street on a call regarding a family disturbance. Police say they found evidence Solomon had battered his girlfriend, who had injuries. REMSA personnel evaluated her, and based on that evaluation, Solomon was arrested and booked.
Solomon, who will be a redshirt sophomore next season, ran for 282 yards on 89 carries (3.2 yards per carry) with one touchdown. He had a breakout game against National Champion Florida State, running for a career-high 108 yards and 26 carries.
