Northern Teams Fare Well in State Baseball Playoffs

Northern teams won five of the eight games in the first day of the State Baseball Playoffs on Friday.

RENO - Northern teams won five of the eight games in the first day of the State Baseball Playoffs on Friday.

The lone exception was in Division one, where both Reno and Damonte Ranch fell into the loser's bracket. Those two will play in an elimination game at 2pm on Friday at Peccole Park.

Fallon edged Chaparral 6-5 to advance to the Division IA winner's bracket. They will face Faith Lutheran on Friday at 1pm at Sparks High School.

It was a clean sweep for northern teams in both Division III and IV. Yerington will face Battle Mountain in the winner's bracket on Friday at 9am at Peccole Park. Virginia City and Wells face off at 10am at Wooster High School.
