Nevada's Roy a Candidate of National Defensive Performance of Year

RENO - Former Wolf Pack defensive tackle Brett Roy is a finalist for the National Defensive Performance of the Year for his game against Boise State.
Roy had 9 tackles, including two for loss, a pass breakup and one sack in the 30-10 loss to the Broncos.
He finished the season with 66 tackles, 18.5 for loss and 10 sacks. He was also named a first team All-American by Sports Illustrated.
Roy is up for the award against 17 other weekly winners. Fans can vote by going to www.facebook.com/AllStarFootball. The winner will be announced during the All-Star Football Challenge special, airing Super Bowl Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Voting is open until Sunday, Jan. 22 at 9:59 a.m. ET.
